HE WAS A HUMBLE MAN. HE WAS A GIANT!
He never spoke about that day, but my mother did.
He never boasted about his courage but he demonstrated it time and time again all throughout his life in quiet ways that made him my hero.
He witnessed two World Wars.
October 24, 2017 marks the First Centennial Anniversary of his aerial combat in WWI where he distinguished himself and was awarded a Silver Medal for Valor.
I LOVED HIM DEARLY.
He was MY FATHER!
SILVER MEDAL TO MILITARY VALOR

Courageous aerial observer, gifted with calm and tenacity, showed in all his flights great contempt of danger and high sense of duty.
Back from a reconnaissance flight of the valleys of Baca and Idria, attacked by an enemy fighter, he resolutely faced him.
Gravely wounded and with the pilot he himself hit, did not desist from the fight and, after having had the plane hit in several vital parts, was forced to land.
As soon as on the ground, oblivious of the very acute pain his wound was causing, only proceeded to furnish exact and vital information gathered from the reconnaissance flight.
