2025 SCHOLARSHIP INSTRUCTION/REQUIREMENTS

 

 

INTRODUCTION:

 

The Italian American Club of Lansing (IAC), long involved in the promotion of educational excellence and representing men and women of Italian, heritage will award two local merit-based scholarships for its members. These awards are separate from the state-wide sponsored scholarships. The scholarships will be used for educational expenses incurred at an accredited college or university.

  

ELIGIBILITY:

 

Two scholarships of $500 will be awarded. Applicants must be members in good standing or children of members in good standing of the IAC for at least two years, i.e., the year of application and the preceding year.

 

The scholarships will be available to qualified high school seniors who have applied and/or been accepted in an undergraduate program at an accredited college or university for the fall academic term of the year of application.

 

APPLICATION:

 

In order to apply, the student must complete the attached application. The application deadline is March 31, 2026, midnight.  Applications postmarked after midnight on that date will not be considered.

 

Completed applications will be screened by the scholarship committee selected by the IAC.  The committee's decision will be based on a review of the following items: transcript, special recognition & awards, community/school involvement, an essay, and two letters of academic recommendation.

 

The IAC will notify selected participants in May, via email.  Scholarship checks will be made payable jointly to the student and college or university that the student will be attending.  The college or university will be notified that the scholarship has been awarded.
